Climate Change - an untold tale of apocalyptic wisdom

Updated: Aug 27, 2023

”Climate Change” is a familiar word in today’s social world but still your opinion on it matters. Just like a drop of water isn't enough to fill the oceans, not everyone on the planet has a significant impact by his/her opinions or way of thinking.

Climate change is not one of those things that mainly depends on a few high-profile people on the planet but to start with some facts, the average American is responsible for 19.8 tonnes per person, and the average Chinese citizen clocks in at 4.6 tonnes. While Australia is on 20.6 tonnes per person (partly because of its reliance on CO2-intensive coal) and the UK is half that at 9.7 (explained in part by relatively CO2-light gas power stations), India is on a mere 1.2. Poorer African nations such as Kenya are on an order magnitude less again – the average Kenyan has a footprint of just 0.3 tonnes (a figure that's likely to drop even lower with the country's surge in wind power)[1].

You might have got a brief idea about how a single person can affect the whole planet. The more I come across people saying that it is not the matter of an individual, the more sorry I feel for the next generations who might hold them guilty in face of climate change and its effects.

So you, me and the older generations will get a hint of what is about to come but the upcoming generations count on us for a change in our lifestyles and all the capable stuff we could do to give them a better environment. I don't urge to live for the future but too much staying in the present won't help anyone in the near future.

You might have heard about the Texas' winter storm, the Australian wildfires, flash floods in Indonesia, earthquakes in South-East Asia and many more... This might just be a warning for us to step-up and take the responsibility for our deeds while making our habits sustainable for a better future on The Perfect Planet.

This is an attempt for creating awareness among the people - which I think is a great foundational step towards a bigger goal. To end this blog I would like you to join me on social media as well to stay updated for the future blogs and many other stuff (work is in progress).

"Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves."
